Archives & Legacy
Founded by Alexander Moghadam in 1962, the Moghadam Collection began as a visionary
venture dedicated to preserving and elevating the art of Persian carpets. Born in
Iran, Alexander brought his passion to Europe, opening five exclusive galleries
across Germany before realizing his dream in 1977: a flagship boutique at 23
Boulevard des Moulins in Monaco. Its royal inauguration by Princess Grace marked the
beginning of a storied legacy, intertwining Moghadam’s name with Monaco’s luxury
heritage. Over decades, the maison became synonymous with unparalleled
craftsmanship, staging over 100 exhibitions worldwide and earning acclaim for its
masterpieces in silk and wool, each signed by legendary Iranian artisans.
